Aunt Alycia

Aunt Alycia has been in town for an entire week!! What a blessing for baby Cole. Aunt Alycia loved hanging out with Cole and providing Ryan and I time to pack. Crazy to think we leave so soon. Here are some pics from her time here. Aunt Alycia kept baby Cole entertained at Bunco night with the youth group and all the excitement from the kids kept him pretty alert.

Alycia's first day, she was so glad to finally meet her favorite nephew.

Cole had a great week with Alycia here. This is Alycia successfully getting Cole to sleep.

We went to the beach for our first family photo shoot. Alycia was our photographer, expect for this pic. Check out the storm rolling in.

Cole Meets Ocean

Aunt Alycia has been in town since Monday and she has been a big help with Cole. Yesterday we went to Clearwater Beach to take some beach pictures before moving to Colorado in two weeks. Here is a video of daddy putting Cole in the water for the first time.

Cole's Cousins

On our trip to Orlando (well, ok. it's really Sanford) last weekend, our nieces got the chance to interact with "Baby Cole" for a little while. It was fun to see cousins getting to know each other.

Cute Cousin Pic Alert!Paige and Alexia also enjoyed "petting" Cole. Cue video...

Swing Low, Sweet Cole

For some reason, Emily loves Cole's little swing. Cole, on the otherhand, didn't really like it at first. But Emily persevered and she kept putting him in it until he liked it. Here Cole is, swinging away, while Emily stands guard to make sure he is enjoying himself.

Cole's "Aunts" & "Uncles"

Emily and I really are blessed to have such great friends. And while we don't get to see most of them very often, we know that they will always be a part of our lives. So while Cole "technically" has 3 aunts and 2 uncles, we tell him that he has dozens of aunts and uncles all over the world because our friends are like family to us. Cole got to meet a few of his aunts and one of his uncles while we were in Orlando this past weekend.

Family Time!!!

Grandma Joanne flew down to Orlando for a week to hang with all the kids, grandkids, and great-grand kids. So we drove over to Orlando for a few days to have some quality family time.
Baby Cole loved meeting his great-grandma Joanne!
Mom showed Emily how to make her famous ribs. Mmmmmm.

Cal & Erin: BONUS FOOTAGE

Bonus footage of Cal & Erin doing some post-ceremony pictures

Don't they make a good-looking couple?

Mission Possible: Cal & Erin Hitched

Last weekend I had the honor of officiating a wedding between my cousin, Cal, and his new bride, Erin. It was a great weekend of seeing family and celebrating Cal & Erin's lifelong commitment to one another. I even got a chance to do the Gator Chomp all over the OSU campus. The only bad thing was being away from Emily & Cole for 2 days :(

Moving to Denver

Emily and I made our move to Denver official this past week as I resigned from my position at the church. It has been a sad week of telling the church staff, the church members, and especially the youth kids about our decision. We have loved pouring our lives into these kids and into this church, but we feel that God is calling us to something new.

We will be hitting the road the second week of August and moving into our 2-bedroom, on-campus apartment at Denver Seminary on August 15th. Emily will begin working full-time towards a Counseling degree at the seminary, while I will be a working full-time as a stay-at-home dad to baby Cole. I will eventually get a "real" job, but until we get seminary life and life in Denver all figured out, this seems like the best option for our family.

Please be in prayer for us as we say our goodbyes here in Clearwater, pack up our junk, and start a new phase of life in Denver.

Kiss the Baby!

The new plan with Cole is to keep him awake between his last two evening feedings so that he'll sleep better during the night. It worked last night, so hopefully it will work again tonight. He is pretty cashed out at this point, but you never know when he might wake up hungry and then just scream until he gets some food.
I have been back at work for two days now, so Emily has been doing it all by herself for the last two days, and she is doing great! Hopefully she will get some sweet rest tonight.
At this point in Cole's life, bathtime does not need to be very long. It only lasts a few minutes, but we love it. Emily loves putting a little bit of lotion on Cole after we dry him off. Here are some post-bath pictures from the other night.
